The client wanted to completely update the kitchen. They liked the layout but wanted to re-fresh the colours and finishes. A big consideration was how to retain some of the existing elements such as the breakfast bar and dining furniture.
Darks colours can feel scary, especially when adding it to so many elements in the room. We made sure the worktop and splash backs were kept lighter in colour, so the dark Hague Blue didn’t overpower the scheme. We also took the tiles up higher than normal, to increase that sense of light. We also added plenty of lights in the space, using additional spots, LED strip lights to enhance darker areas.
