Show confidence in your home – take a decoration risk that is sure to pay off!
Walls can tend to be flat and uninspiring, lacking in dimension and design, so don’t be afraid to go bold with your back drops, making your walls the feature within your home. Take your walls from being in the background and make them the focal point of your rooms, here’s how…
THERE IS DEPTH IN COLOUR
Now is the time to be brave with colour. Adorn your walls with rich dark pigments to add an opulent feel to your interiors. If your room boasts lots of natural light, dark colours can give the illusion of more space. Dark tones can also emphasise a room’s features and showcase your accessories, mirrors and pictures. Team the dark tones with jewel colours for a sumptuous look.

STRONG WITHOUT THE COLOUR
If you’re not brave enough to use colour, but want a strong feature wall, then go bold with a neutral printed wallpaper. This wall covering uses simple shapes and tones of grey to create a three dimensional illusion, tricking the eye to believe that the room is bigger than it is. Draw on tones of colour from a wall covering through to the furnishings, flooring and paint colour to produce a clean, contemporary and stylish look.
TAKE IT TO THE TILES
Master the feature wall trend by introducing colour and shape to your wet room areas. Bathrooms are often played safe with neutral tiles and pops of colour limited to accessories. Now is the time to be daring and take it to the walls with beautiful tiles. Play around with pattern using unconventional shapes, such as this narrow style tile used in a herringbone pattern – very on trend! Hexagonal shaped tiles can also be used to add a modern look to your kitchens and bathrooms.

JT INTERIORS GOES BOLD

With this large scale geometric wallpaper we injected lots of colour and life into an Oxford College study space.

We furnished this master bedroom with antique style furniture in American walnut to emphasise the gold tones in this dramatic wallpaper.

Using Farrow and Ball Oval Room Blue in this bedroom we then picked out soft furnishings in various shades to give a soft and restful feel.

We painted a section of this student kitchen with blackboard paint. Blackboard paint can be a creative and fun way to change the back drop of a room.
