How can we help prepare your new home?

Space Planning
Moving to a new home always brings the challenge of placing your existing furnishings into a new space. Our designers help you plan this transition and integrate your treasured belongings with new pieces.

Style
Often retirement homes are a change in style to one you have currently. Deciding what your style might be in a new home compared to a current period property needs careful consideration.

Renovation
You may wish to make some changes to your new home in order to future proof it, such as adding a walk in shower. Or, you may simply want to reinvent a treasured chair with some new upholstery.

Curtains & Blinds
In most cases your curtains and blinds don’t fit a new property. We can help select and make new soft furnishings to create your new home, we can even amend existing ones to fit.

Design Ideas for Retirement Living
Every retirement journey is different.
Some of our clients are moving into smaller homes for convenience, some of moving to be nearer to family, while others want to redesign their existing property for the years ahead.
Common requests include:
- Guest rooms for visiting children and grandchildren.
- Kitchens that support sociable cooking and dining.
- Relaxing living spaces that prioritise comfort and easy upkeep.
- New ideas to integrate current furnishings into a new property.
Deciding on a New Style or Mood.
Very often a retirement move not only means a change of location, but also size and style of property. It’s a chance to explore a different colour palette or style to your normal choices. Perhaps the property is a new build and you want to go for a bolder colour palette.
Our designers will work with you to put together a palette of colours and also patterns and styles for you to use as a base for your new home. Together you will create a new home that reflects the property you are in and the right feel of home you want to create.

Integrating New & Old
Sometimes moving into a new home is a chance to ring the changes with new furnishings, colour schemes or style. However, we all have treasured items of furniture, from our most comfortable sofa to an heirloom that has been in the family for years.
Our team of designers can help you design your new home to accommodate those pieces you love and mix them with new pieces that perhaps fit a smaller space better, or suit the style of your new home.
We work with French Polishers and Upholsterers to help breathe new life into older pieces, maybe covering a chair in a new fabric to give it a new look. Our team are there with ideas and suggestions for how you can reinvigorate your furnishings.
Storage Solutions
One of the biggest challenges in down sizing is storage. How do you keep the items you need, but also make the best use of a smaller space, so that you can find a home for everything.
Clever use of furnishings can help greatly. Ottoman beds, storage benches in the living room, stools with hidden storage in the bedroom, clever use of shelving and zoning rooms, can all help you keep the clutter to a minimum and have a place for everything.
