Our recent visits to The Furnishing Show, and The Spring Fair were a great chance to see what new trends are emerging.
What was interesting about this year, was that the trends were really clear – across all suppliers and all categories.
Here is a quick overview of the Spring / Summer 18 trends we identified.
BRIGHT CITRUS COLOURS
LEMON, LIME AND BURNT ORANGE
Find them in cushions, lamps and even upholstery

SOFT PASTELS
MUTED GREEN, POWDER PINK AND GREY
Like the citrus tones these were evident in small items like accessories, but also on larger pieces like sofas and chairs – look out for the photos of our next show home – we’re on trend!

OUT OF AFRICA
ETHNIC THEMES – ANIMAL PRINTS AND MONOCHROME IMAGERY
This was another strong theme across all the exhibitors – black and white Batik patterns, basket work and animal print were all strong themes – again appearing in smaller items like artwork and vases, but also statement pieces like this Butterfly chair.

CRAVING FOR CARVINGS?
HERRINGBONE, CARVINGS, INLAYS
Wood just got interesting! Gone are the plain oak units – herringbone, carvings and embossed effects are all making an appearance on chests of drawers, shelving units and wall art.

MOVE OVER MARBLE –
AGATE AND MINERALS ARE MOVING IN
This is something we haven’t really seen before. Using the cross section of Agate stones to produce some amazing colours and effects – we saw this used in artwork, table tops and lighting to name just a few !

JT Interiors viewpoint !
We loved the quartz and mineral look – something that is brand new – so if you want to give you home an up to date touch – go for a bit of Agate in your life – here are so low cost accessories to try out!
