What was the inspiration behind the design?

This was a small cloakroom that needed some personality and also to feel less cluttered. First up, we hid all of the pipework behind the bespoke tongue and groove panelling, to create a seamless look & make the room feel more spacious.

The size of the room meant we had to carefully plan out the exact size of all the elements of the suite and commission a made to measure vanity unit.

The client wanted as much storage as possible, so we designed a three drawer vanity unit. We also added a vanity mirror and tray for that quick make up stop before rushing out the door!

The client wasn’t afraid of bold patterns, and creating a statement, so we chose the dark green panelling a wallpaper bold to completement the beautiful rich colour.

How do you make bold colours and patterns work in a small room?

Wallpapering all of the walls was a bold move, but the bathroom just wouldn’t have been the same without it. When choosing bold colour and patterns in a bathroom it’s important that the colours and tones work seamlessly together. For a little contrast and texture we used a mix of metals, and some old scaffold board plank shelves.
