First of all I start with a colour palette. I took inspiration from a piece of contemporary artwork I liked, which had lots of warm earthy tones. I drew on all the colours from the picture and used them throughout the home, to a lesser or greater extent in each room. This allows the whole house to flow seamlessly whilst allowing each room to have it’s own personality.
I think in some ways not having a specific client in mind can be a real challenge – but I enjoy imagining the family that will live in the space and thinking about all the things that might appeal to them, how they might live their lives and creating a story through the accessories and furnishings I choose.
