OXFORD BUY TO LET FURNISHINGS

OXFORD BUY TO LET FURNISHINGS

Brief

We were asked to design contemporary schemes for 6 individual duplex apartments. Although located in the busy hub of North Oxford, the apartments sit above the newly built Easy Hotel and therefore boast some beautiful views of the countryside beyond the city limits. Not only did the apartments need to look beautiful, but with the quality of all the furnishings had to stand up to the rigours of a rental situation.

Property Size: 1 x 1 bed, 4 x 2 beds, 1 x 3 bed & communal entrance

Client Testimonial

“We instructed JT Interiors on behalf of our client that was furnishing six brand new investment apartments in Summertown, Oxford. Jill and Cherelle offered a great service from the start in putting forward an appealing scheme that matched the quality of the property and the rental levels we wanted to achieve. The project was delayed but Cherelle and Jill worked around this (with smiles!) and all of the apartments were let immediately on completion. I would highly recommend the JTI team.”

What was the inspiration behind the style direction?

Following a brief from the letting agent and developer, we visited the site to understand the attention to detail and quality of the fixtures and fittings that were being installed. We wanted to create a scheme that would work with the fixtures and fittings seamlessly.

We wanted to create a scheme that would stand out against the other furnished lets on the market. We opted for a very neutral colour palette to bring a sense of calm sophistication to the development. The overall look was to be sleek and elegant, so we sourced furnishings with clean and simple lines to reflect this.

What challenges did you face when implementing the design?

Logistics were the hardest part on this project. The current strains on the supply chain, meant our suppliers were struggling to source items – around 40% of our proposed furnishings were unavailable so we were continually having to reselect items and evolve each rooms designs to maintain the integrity of the original plans, whilst sourcing items that would arrive on time.

These difficulties extended to the developer and construction team who were also experiencing supply and workforce issues. However, we overcame all these challenges in the end, and with good project management to deliver the project on time for the first set of tenants who moved in!
