How did you create the ‘fun, family’ atmosphere in the house?

Firstly I created one of the bedrooms to be for a teenage boy – that allowed me to get creative with the furnishings and accessories and really inject some personality for the ‘imaginary’ teenage son of the family.  In the living room, I added touches like occasional chairs in a striped fabric, rather than just having neutral chairs.  The palette for the house combined different shades of blue which complimented the kitchen and created a cool neutral as a backdrop throughout the house.

The Master Suite was an usual space, how did you go about creating the design?

This room was in the eaves and therefore had height restrictions in a number of areas.  One of the main purposes of a show home is to demonstrate how each room can be utilised and furnished, so it was really important that I made use of all the corners and potentially awkward spaces – I added an oversized cuddler chair to one corner and filled the area of the room with restricted height with a large chest of drawers to show how the space could be utilised for storage.  The room was also very wide so we introduced a super king bed to add a boutique hotel feel.
